Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) surged to Rs 1.63 lakh per 10 grams due to strong spot demand and fresh speculative positions.

The prices rose by Rs 1,283, or 0.79%, at Rs 1,63,721 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 3,424 lots on Monday.
