MCX Gold Hits ₹1.52 Lakh, Silver Tops ₹2.35 Lakh Amid Festive Demand
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for October delivery rose by 0.76% to an intraday high of Rs 1,52,982, supported by festive-season buying and strong global market cues.
Silver futures for September contract outperformed gold, rising up to 1.62% or Rs 3,755 to touch an intraday high of Rs 2,35,221.
Market experts attributed the surge in prices to increasing jewellery and investment demand ahead of the festive season, as well as strength in international markets.
The analysts also pointed out that fresh long positions in the market could keep prices firm despite near-term volatility.
