MCX Gold Hits ₹1.54 Lakh per 10 Grams as Investors Buy Ahead of US Inflation Data
Gold prices rose in domestic futures trade on Tuesday, August 11, following gains in global bullion prices. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) gold futures for October delivery climbed ₹1,501, or 0.98%, to ₹1.54 lakh per 10 grams.
The contract traded with a turnover of 1,332 lots. In contrast, silver futures on the MCX slipped 0.16% to ₹2.36 lakh per kg.
Market analysts attributed the increase in gold prices to investors buying up the precious metal ahead of US consumer price inflation data due on Wednesday (August 12). This inflation data will provide fresh clues about the Federal Reserve's interest-rate outlook, which can impact gold prices.
