Gold and silver prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) rose in early trade on August 26 as crude oil prices fell sharply and the US dollar weakened.

The MCX gold futures for October delivery increased by 0.16% to ₹1,63,146 per 10 grams, while MCX silver futures for September delivery gained 0.64%, trading around ₹2,45,700 per kg.

The rise in precious metals was supported by softer energy prices, which raised hopes of easing inflationary pressures.

International crude oil prices fell around 3% with Brent crude futures hovering near $86 per barrel due to expectations of an easing of supply disruptions in the Middle East.
