MCX Shares Surge as Gold and Silver Prices Rise Amid Weaker US Dollar
MCX shares surged to Rs 3,211 after three days of gains, riding on the back of rising gold and silver prices. The US dollar's weakness and easing concerns over long-term yields contributed to this trend.
The MCX stock has seen significant growth in recent years, with a 45% increase so far this year and a 101% gain over the past 12 months. Over three years, it has jumped by an impressive 932%, while in five years, its value has more than quadrupled to 970%.
Gold futures for October 2026 delivery rose by Rs 1,205 to Rs 1,60,630 per 10 grams, and silver futures for September 2026 delivery were up at Rs 2,45,158 per kg. This surge in prices is expected to support near-term volume trends.
Market regulator Sebi's recent consultation paper proposing Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) participation in physically settled non-agricultural commodity derivatives and index derivatives is seen as a key growth catalyst for the exchange.
