Silver futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) dropped by Rs 851 to Rs 2,34,596 per kilogram on August 14 due to a sell-off by participants.

The decline was driven mainly by a reduction in bets from market players. Silver contracts for September delivery fell by 0.36 percent in a business turnover of 3,644 lots.

Despite the local downturn, silver prices globally were trading up at USD 64.67 per ounce in New York, indicating mixed sentiment.
