Metals Fall Across the Board in China
The Shanghai Metals Market reported that most metals fell in value as of their midday close on August 13. SHFE copper declined by 0.5%, while SHFE aluminum dropped by 0.9%. In contrast, SHFE lead rose by 0.63%.
Cast aluminum and coking coal were among the biggest losers, with cast aluminum futures falling by 1.33% and coking coal contracts declining by 1.27%. Alumina led losses, down by 1.62%, and silicon metal fell by 0.64%
Ferrous metals also experienced declines, with iron ore falling by 0.14%, rebar dropping by 0.5%, hot-rolled coil decreasing by 0.37%, and stainless steel slipping by 0.93%.
