Metals Market Mixed on September 7 as Iron Ore Rises

The metals market showed mixed performance on September 7, according to the Shanghai Metals Market. Base metals on the domestic market had varying results, with SHFE copper remaining flat at 109,110 yuan/mt, while SHFE aluminum edged up 0.06%. SHFE lead rose 0.74%, and SHFE zinc gained 0.97%.

The most-traded cast aluminum futures contract rose 0.06%, but the most-traded alumina contract fell 0.69%. The most-traded lithium carbonate contract dropped 4.04%, while the most-traded silicon metal contract fell 1.36%. Polysilicon futures declined 0.98%.

Ferrous metals mostly fell, with iron ore rising 1.45% and rebar dropping 0.32%. Hot-rolled coil decreased by 0.41%, while stainless steel gained 0.4%.
