Metlen has signed an agreement with Petronas to secure long-term supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for Greece. The deal, announced on Monday, will see Petronas supply six LNG cargoes per year from its Atlantic portfolio over a five-year period starting in 2027.

The agreement is worth approximately 0.6 billion cubic meters of LNG per year, equivalent to around six cargoes. This move is expected to strengthen Metlen's position as a strategic energy hub in the region and contribute to Greece's security of supply.

Petronas' subsidiary Petco Trading UK will be responsible for supplying the LNG under the agreement. For Metlen, this deal represents an important step towards diversifying its LNG supply sources and enhancing its flexibility and resilience in the market.
