Metlen Secures Long-Term LNG Supply Deal with PETRONAS
Metlen, an international industrial and energy company, has entered into a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with PETRONAS's subsidiary PTUK for a long-term supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
The agreement will see PTUK deliver six LNG cargoes per year to Greece, amounting to approximately 0.6 billion cubic meters per annum over the course of five years, starting in 2027.
Metlen's Chief Executive Director International Energy Supply & Trading, Panayotis Kanellopoulos, stated that this agreement represents an important step in strengthening Metlen's strategy to diversify its LNG sourcing. By expanding international synergies with PETRONAS, a leading global LNG player, they further enhance flexibility and reliability of supply.
PETRONAS Executive Vice President and CEO of Gas & Maritime Business, Datuk Adif Zulkifli, emphasized that this agreement underscores PETRONAS' commitment to delivering reliable and flexible LNG solutions that support customers' evolving energy needs. The partnership aims to contribute to greater LNG supply diversification and energy resilience in Greece and Southeast Europe.
