MGY's $4.06B WildFire Deal Reshapes Growth and Risk Profile
Magnolia Oil & Gas Corporation (MGY) is preparing to undergo significant changes after announcing its planned $4.06 billion acquisition of WildFire Energy.
The deal, which could reshape MGY's growth and risk profile, is expected to expand production, oil exposure, and drilling inventory while keeping the company centered in South Texas.
Magnolia's pro forma Giddings position would exceed 1.25 million net acres after adding WildFire's approximately 810,000 net acres, making Giddings a more central part of MGY's operating profile.
The acquisition also brings about 37 thousand barrels per day of oil production, lifting the combined oil mix to roughly 50% and adding development opportunities across various formations, including the Austin Chalk, Eagle Ford, and Woodbine.
