Average gas prices in Michigan are expected to reach their highest levels since 2012 this Labor Day weekend, according to AAA.

After remaining above $4 per gallon throughout July and August, the national average is predicted to continue its high trend into the holiday weekend.

Michigan's state average is currently sitting at around $4.05, similar to what it was on September 3rd, 2012.

Crude oil prices have been volatile in recent months due to global tensions, making it difficult to forecast future gas price movements.
