Middle East Conflict Drives Idaho Gas Prices Higher
Gas prices in Idaho have surged to $4.82 per gallon on average, up from $4.62 just one week ago and significantly higher than a month or year ago, according to AAA Idaho.
The Gem State now ranks seventh nationwide for highest gas prices, with Twin Falls at the top at $4.89 per gallon and Coeur d'Alene lowest at $4.66. The national average is currently $4.32 per gallon, up from $4.15 just one week ago.
The price hike is attributed to ongoing conflict in the Middle East, including continued disruptions to crude oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Matthew Conde, public affairs director at AAA Idaho, stated that 'conflict continues in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, severely limiting crude oil shipments in the Middle East.'
