Middle East Conflict Escalates with Iran Strikes
The conflict in the Middle East escalated on Wednesday after Iran launched missile strikes on US military facilities in response to attacks by the US and Saudi Arabia on Tehran-backed militias in Iraq.
Ambrey, a British maritime security company, reported that two natural gas carriers caught fire in Egypt's Damietta port following drone attacks. The vessels involved were a floating storage unit owned by a US company and a tanker owned by a Greek operator.
The strikes on Iraq killed at least 20 fighters and six Iranian advisers, according to the Associated Press. Saudi Arabia accused Iran-backed Iraqi militias of attacking its oil facilities with drones over the past two days.
