Middle East Oil Refinery Production to Recover in Weeks, Says Vitol Bahrain

Middle East oil refineries may be able to recover quickly from the current supply crisis caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. According to Vitol Bahrain's regional head of research, Bader Nooruddin, production could return to normal levels in 40-60 days.

The shutdown of Gulf refineries has resulted in a loss of around 3 million barrels per day of oil refining capacity, including that of Oman which is located south of the Hormuz Strait. Nooruddin said this would take production up to around 90-95% of refinery production levels.
