Middle East Tensions Escalate as Qatar Detains Iranian Pilots
The situation in the Middle East continues to escalate as tensions rise between Iran and its regional allies. The Missing Persons Committee of Iran's Armed Forces General Staff announced that Qatar is holding three Iranian pilots who were downed in March.
According to the committee, Qatar has violated the men's rights by not allowing them to meet or communicate with their families or with Iranian officials handling their cases.
The statement also accused Qatar of violating international law and human rights.
In related news, a tanker owned by Abu Dhabi's state-owned oil and gas company ADNOC was attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The attack comes as Iran asserted control over the strait after the war started on February 28 with US and Israeli strikes.
