Middle East Tensions Push Oil Prices Above $107 a Barrel
Oil prices surged on Monday, with Brent crude topping $107 a barrel as tensions in the Middle East escalated supply fears.
The Brent crude for November delivery jumped 2.8 percent to $107.54 a barrel, while US benchmark West Texas Intermediate for October rose 2.3 percent to $102.34.
The market's focus remained on the Middle East, where fresh security concerns threatened key export routes following drone attacks in Saudi Arabia and a vessel strike in the Strait of Hormuz that killed one person and injured three others.
