Middle East to Dominate Global Gas Processing Capacity Additions by 2030
The Middle East is poised to become the global leader in gas processing capacity additions by 2030, driven by abundant natural gas resources and growing demand. The region's vast gas reserves, particularly in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, will be the main drivers of this growth.
The UAE is expected to remain the largest contributor to regional processing capacity additions, followed closely by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Iran and Iraq are also expected to play significant roles in expanding the region's gas processing infrastructure.
Major projects such as Bab Gas Cap, Manayif, and Habshan 7 in the UAE, along with the Ras Laffan-NFE project in Qatar, will drive these capacity additions during the outlook period. These projects are expected to strengthen both countries' processing infrastructure and support the monetization of their domestic gas resources.
