Middle East War Enters Most Perilous Phase as Iran Targets US Assets
The Middle East conflict has escalated to its most perilous phase yet, with Iran unleashing a barrage of attacks on US military infrastructure in the region.
This week saw 12 consecutive nights of US strikes on Iranian command centers, missile sites, air defenses, and nuclear-linked facilities. In response, Tehran targeted American radar, communications, air-defense, and aviation assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, including facilities tied to the Fifth Fleet, Camp Arifjan, Ali Al Salem Air Base, and Muwaffaq Salti Air Base.
The Iranian attacks have resulted in US personnel fatalities in Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Moreover, Iran has maintained control over Hormuz, attacked tankers that entered unauthorized routes, and threatened to block regional exports of oil, gas, and petrochemicals unless US attacks cease.
