Natural gas stockpiles in the Midwest and East regions of the United States have reached abundant levels, according to data from July. The storage levels are currently 7% above average for the Midwest and 5.3% above the five-year norm for the East region.

The high production levels in these areas, combined with a break from summer heat, have contributed to the increase in stockpiles. As of now, the natural gas stored underground for the coming winter is at healthy levels.

Experts note that production has remained steady at high levels, and Mother Nature has delivered additional breaks from summer heat in the key regions. This has allowed storage levels to climb further this month.
