Milei Sees Boost from Middle East Conflict: Oil Prices Surge
Argentina's President Javier Milei has expressed optimism that the ongoing war in the Middle East will lead to an improvement in the country's oil and agricultural exports. The conflict, which began on February 28 when Israel and the US launched attacks on Iran, has driven up oil prices to over $100 per barrel for the first time since 2022.
Milei stated that Argentina will benefit from the rising oil prices due to its status as a net exporter. He also noted that the country's grain exports, including soy, maize, and sunflower, are increasing in value.
The President's comments come after he voiced support for the US and Israeli offensive against Iran. Milei has been attending Argentina Week in New York, an event aimed at promoting investment in the country.
