Armed men set fire to at least five empty oil tankers on the Quetta-Taftan Highway in Balochistan's Chagai district, police said. The incident occurred when more than a dozen suspected militants stopped traffic on the N-40 at Nokcha and intercepted the tankers.

The officials stated that the tankers were empty and were returning to the border town of Taftan for bringing Iranian oil. No casualties were reported in the attack, but the assailants fled before security forces reached the site after being informed of the incident.

In a separate incident, police recovered the bodies of two men in the Mashkay area of Balochistan and began an investigation. The bodies were moved to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, with one identified as Imran, a resident of Khuzdar.
