Mining Stocks Boost Australia's Stock Market Amid Banking Rout
Australia's stock market has started the week on a high note, despite some trading pressures. The S&P/ASX200 index rose by 57.6 points to midday on Monday, representing a 0.64% increase to 9,116.5.
The nation's largest company, BHP, reached a record high of $67.72 in early trade, driven by strong copper prices and an uptick in iron ore futures.
Battery minerals producers also performed well, with PLS surging 6.5% after reinstating its dividend following a more than 150% surge in annual revenue to $1.9 billion.
