Gas prices in Minnesota have risen significantly over the past year, reaching $4.11 per gallon on Tuesday, according to GasBuddy.

This is a $1.17 increase from last year's average price of $2.94 per gallon and marks a 22.1-cent-per-gallon rise in just the last month alone.

The national average has also topped $4 per gallon, with prices rising across the country as oil prices rebound due to ongoing global supply chain disruptions.

In particular, Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, points out that the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz and Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries have put upward pressure on gas prices.
