Missouri Gas Prices Skyrocket Amid Crude Oil Surge
Gas prices in Missouri have surged due to rising crude oil costs, reaching an average of $3.88 per gallon for regular gas, a dollar more than this time last year.
Nick Chabarria, spokesperson for AAA Missouri, explained that crude oil accounts for about 60% of the price drivers pay at local gas stations.
Chabarria attributed the increase in gas prices to the recent rise in crude oil costs and noted that diesel prices have also reached an all-time high nationwide.
Drivers like James Taylor are feeling the pinch, with his work truck costing him $125-$130 to fill up.
To save money on gas, Chabarria advised drivers to maintain their vehicles' efficiency by getting regular oil changes and checking engine lights, as well as ensuring proper tire inflation.
He also suggested shopping around for the best prices at different gas stations, as they may not all adjust their prices simultaneously.
