Mixed Scrap Metal Market Sees Slight Declines in Copper and Stainless Steel Prices

The latest scrap metal price report shows a mixed but largely stable market across North America. According to the Daily Scrap Metal Price Report published on July 29, 2026, copper and stainless steel scrap prices recorded slight declines.

Copper prices fell with #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #1 Copper Bare Bright each dropping by $0.05 per pound. #3 Copper-Light also posted a modest dip of $0.05 per pound. In contrast, Copper Radiator scrap prices were down by just $0.01 per pound.

Stainless steel prices declined across the board with 301 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, 309 SS, and 316 SS Solid prices all down by $0.01 per pound. 310 SS and 330 SS prices fell by $0.02 per pound and $0.03 per pound, respectively.

Aluminum scrap showed a narrow decline with E.C. Aluminum Wire dropping by $0.01 per pound. Other aluminum grades remained flat, including 1100 scrap, 3003 scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels, 6063 Extrusions, and 6061 Extrusions.
