Moldova Announces New Gas Rate Increase Amid Rising Costs
On September 1, a new gas rate will take effect in Moldova. The decision was made by ANRE (National Agency for Energy Regulation) after reviewing a request from Energocom and verifying their calculations and supporting documents.
The price adjustment is mainly due to a significant increase in the cost of purchasing natural gas and changes in supply terms for the remainder of the year.
Based on its analysis, ANRE set the average supply price at 18,530 lei/1,000 m³. This new rate is 5.88 lei (41% higher) than the current rate of 14.42 lei per cubic meter.
