Moldova is preparing for potential disruptions to natural gas supplies to the breakaway region of Transnistria, according to a draft plan prepared by the Reintegration Bureau and the Ministry of Energy.

Despite an existing complex supply arrangement that involves Hungary's MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG purchasing gas on the EU market and transiting it through Transnistria, officials are concerned about the risk of unexpected disruptions.

The plan stipulates that the company responsible for gas transit to Transnistria will continuously monitor natural gas supplies to meet the needs of the breakaway region.
