The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) in Moldova has expressed concern over sudden price hikes for compressed natural gas by TransAutoGaz Ltd, the country's largest operator of such stations. The company cited an expected increase in the purchase price of natural gas as justification.

Moldovagaz, the founder of TransAutoGaz, attempted to explain the decision but ANRE disputes their reasoning, stating that some factors mentioned cannot influence the current price structure for compressed natural gas.

ANRE is analyzing the situation and reserves the right to file a complaint to investigate the matter under anti-competitive legislation. Five operators of GNCV stations currently operate in Moldova.
