Russia has pledged to work with Iran to counter the latest US economic pressure campaign against Tehran. Maria Zakharova, Russia's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, made this announcement at a press briefing on August 27.

Zakharova stated that the escalation of tensions by the US and Israel against Iran had created serious consequences for global energy markets. She argued that one-fifth of the world's oil and one-third of its gas are now at risk due to these actions.

Russia will coordinate efforts with Tehran and other concerned countries to counter the US economic measures targeting Iran. Zakharova emphasized that sanctions have increasingly been used as a tool in international relations, exerting pressure on countries whose policies are not accepted by Western governments.
