Motherboard Makers May Hike Prices Amid Rising PCB Costs

ASUS, MSI, and GIGABYTE may raise motherboard distribution prices in Q3 2026 due to rising costs for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and copper. According to Board Channels, a Chinese industry site, PCB prices are expected to increase by at least 50% this year.

The cost of surface-mount capacitors, power components, and control ICs has also risen, making it harder for manufacturers to absorb expenses through non-PCB costs.

While the report does not specify concrete markup percentages for finished products, it suggests that price increases are necessary to restore profit margins for both manufacturers and sales channels.
