Murphy Oil Corp reported a sharp increase in net income for the second quarter of 2026, driven by soaring oil prices. The Houston-based exploration and production company earned $225.8 million in adjusted net income, nearly six times that of the same period last year.

This beats analyst projections and marks a significant improvement from Q2 2025, when Murphy Oil reported $22.28 million in net profit.

The company's adjusted earnings per diluted share came in at $1.55, exceeding the consensus estimate of $1.51. Despite lower production levels, soaring oil prices offset these losses and contributed to the strong earnings.
