The North Eastern Region of India has made significant strides in developing its natural gas infrastructure. Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) has successfully injected natural gas into the Dergaon, Dimapur Pipeline, marking the first-ever supply of natural gas to Nagaland through the National Gas Grid.

This milestone is a major step towards strengthening the region's natural gas infrastructure and integrating it more closely with India's emerging gas-based economy. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has provided continued support and guidance for this project.

The Dergaon, Dimapur Pipeline will facilitate the evacuation and monetisation of natural gas produced from ONGC’s Jorhat Asset, improving the utilisation of domestic gas resources from the region.
