Namibia's Gold, Copper, and Uranium Sectors See Strong Price Gains
The Bank of Namibia's domestic gold acquisition initiative has enhanced the strategic importance of locally produced gold to the national economy and reserve management framework, according to the Chamber of Mines of Namibia.
As at August 3, 2026, the Bank had acquired 8,573.52 ounces of gold valued at approximately N$568.1 million under a structured gold acquisition framework informed by international best practice.
The chamber reports that uranium prices remain favourable for Namibia's uranium sector with strong annual gains supporting revenue and investment outlook for uranium producers and developing projects.
Copper prices remained firm in July, while tin prices continued to surge, exceeding substantial gains recorded over the course of the year, providing a supportive environment for the country's copper and tin sectors.
