Narayanganj Gas Crisis: Only Three Stations Open Amid Long Queues

Thirty CNG filling stations in Narayanganj have stopped supplying compressed natural gas due to low pipeline pressure. Only three stations are currently receiving gas, according to the Bangladesh CNG Owners' Association. The shortage has led to long queues of vehicles at these few operating stations.

CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Md Salauddin said he had gone to one of the operating stations the previous night but returned without getting gas. He came back around 7:00am today and was still waiting in the queue until 1:30pm.

The Bangladesh CNG Owners' Association has urged the government to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but officials say they have not been given any information about when this crisis will end.

Mohammad Nazmul Huda, an official at one of the filling stations, said gas pressure in the distribution line had been low for the past two days. He added that drivers were coming to the station hoping to get gas at a better pressure, but many were still unable to refuel adequately even after waiting for hours.
