Natrona County Gas Prices Surpass $4 Per Gallon Amid Rising National Averages
Natrona County's average gasoline price has surpassed $4 per gallon for the first time in recent history, according to data from AAA. The county's average price jumped by 17 cents over the past week, reaching an average of $4.08 per gallon.
This puts Natrona County third among Wyoming counties with the lowest fuel prices, behind Goshen and Albany counties at $3.96 and $4.01 respectively. However, Wyoming's overall average price has increased to $4.25 per gallon, a 13-cent rise from last week.
Across the country, the national average gas price rose by 7.7 cents over the past week to reach $4.02 per gallon, with some states experiencing even higher prices. California recorded the highest state average at $5.56 per gallon, while Louisiana had the lowest at $3.53.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, noted that oil prices have remained relatively stable in recent days, but that prices are expected to continue rising until the Strait of Hormuz standoff is resolved and Middle East production recovers.
