Natural Gas Futures Prices Slide as Bearish Sentiment Takes Hold
Natural gas futures prices dropped on Friday as traders focused on rising production and softer demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, despite a smaller-than-expected storage injection reported by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Thursday.
The EIA's injection data showed a 55 Bcf build in natural gas inventories, which was lower than the consensus estimate of 67 Bcf. However, this bullish news was met with skepticism as traders pointed to elevated production levels and mixed weather forecasts that could impact demand.
According to industry analysts, supply remains high, and the weather outlook is uncertain, leading to a bearish sentiment in the market.
