Natural Gas Prices Inch Higher Amid Supply Strength
Traders are cautiously optimistic about the natural gas market as the August New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) futures contract crept into positive territory on Wednesday, its final day before expiring.
The August contract rose 2.0 cents to $2.682/MMBtu just before noon ET, while September futures advanced 2.5 cents to $2.726.
Buyers are finding bargains in the market as they weigh evolving weather forecasts and supply strength. The NYMEX natural gas futures contract has been under pressure due to increased production levels, but recent developments suggest that prices may be stabilizing.
