Natural Gas Prices Set for -83.24% Decline in Next 12 Months
Natural Gas (NG1) is experiencing a multi-year bear cycle, with prices potentially hitting $1.25 in the next 12 months. This projection is based on the market's 20-year Channel Down pattern, which has consistently shown that each lower high rejection leads to a long-term bearish leg. In this case, the price was rejected near the top of the channel last January, triggering a potential decline of -83.24%. The market has previously followed this pattern in 2022/23, with prices hitting the Fibonacci extension of 1.118 after each top rejection.
The 20-year Channel Down pattern has been confirmed by the 1M MACD Bearish Cross, which occurred in February 2026. This indicator suggests that a bearish leg is underway, and prices could soon hit the bottom of the channel's lower lows trend line. If repeated, Natural Gas' price movement could mirror its previous decline, with prices potentially falling to $1.25.
