Natural Gas Prices Show Signs of Potential Reversal
Natural gas prices are showing signs of a potential reversal after breaking above a descending trend line that had been capping its slide since early August. The break suggests that sellers may be losing their grip, and a retest of the broken resistance could follow before the next major move unfolds.
The price is currently hovering near $2.80, having bounced sharply off the $2.623 swing low. Technical analysis tools are indicating potential support levels on a pullback, with the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level at $2.694 and the 61.8% level at $2.738.
While the moving averages still point to a longer-term downtrend, price has climbed back above the 100 SMA, hinting that short-term momentum has shifted in favor of the bulls. However, a sustained move above both moving averages would be needed to strengthen the case for a more durable reversal.
