Natural Gas Prices Slip on Elevated Production and Soft Demand
Natural Gas Futures edged lower on Friday as traders focused on elevated production and softer LNG export demand, despite Thursday's smaller-than-expected US Energy Information Administration (EIA) storage injection.
The injection was less than expected, but the market did not rally. Instead, traders pointed to increased production and reduced demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports as bearish factors weighing on prices.
A mixed weather outlook added to the uncertainty, with some analysts predicting cooler temperatures in key regions that could increase demand for natural gas. However, the overall impact of the weather was seen as neutral at best, and not enough to offset the bearish trends.
