Natural Gas Futures Test 2-Week High Amid Scorching Weather Forecasts

The price of natural gas futures has reached a two-week high, driven by forecasts indicating scorching temperatures and increased demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) feedgas.

Late-night weather models showed an even hotter trend than previously expected, leading to double-digit gains in prompt month futures trading at $2.802/MMBtu as of 11:53 a.m. ET on the September NYMEX market.

The increased demand for LNG feedgas also contributed to the price surge, with flows bouncing back from last session's sharp decline.
