Natural Gas Stockpiles Surge to Record High, Oversupply Fears Rise
The Natural Gas stockpile surge has doubled its prior build, jolting the energy market. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that natural gas inventories rose by 123 billion cubic feet for the week ending on August 25. This marks a significant increase from the 63 billion cubic foot build reported in the previous week.
The current stockpile level stands at 3.4 trillion cubic feet, which is above the five-year average. This has led to concerns about oversupply and potential downward pressure on prices. The EIA also noted that natural gas production continues to rise, contributing to the increase in inventories.
