NCR Gets First LNG Station, Boosting Clean Fuel Infrastructure

Indraprastha Gas Limited has opened NCR's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) station in Dadri, Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The LNG station can refuel up to 50-60 long-haul vehicles per day and has a maximum dispensing capacity of 20 metric tonnes of LNG daily.

The project was set up by IGL at an investment of Rs 11.8 crore on an area of around 4,200 square meters. The station is equipped with a 56.8 KL (around 22 MT) LNG storage tank and a 150 LPM LNG dispenser, enabling it to serve LNG-powered long-haul trucks operating on major freight corridors.

LNG offers several advantages over conventional fuels, including higher energy density, longer driving range, and lower emissions. IGL said the commissioning of the station aligns with the Centre's vision of increasing the share of natural gas in the energy mix, reducing dependence on conventional fuels, lowering vehicular emissions, and promoting sustainable mobility.

The station was inaugurated by CONCOR chairman and managing director Sanjay Swaroop. IGL said the commissioning of the station 'aligns with the Centre's vision' of increasing the share of natural gas in the energy mix.
