Nebraska Feedlot Turns Manure into Pipeline-Quality Natural Gas

A new biogas recovery project is underway in Broken Bow, Nebraska, where eight anaerobic digesters will process cattle manure from Adams Land & Cattle feedlot into pipeline-quality natural gas.

The facility, owned by Neogenyx Fuels, aims to produce approximately 1.2 million MMBtu of natural gas per year, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by around 63,700 metric tons annually once operational at full capacity.

The project's CEO, Michael Bakas, sees it as a way for American agriculture to contribute to the future of renewable fuels, connecting Nebraska to global markets for lower-carbon energy solutions.
