Nepal Oil Corporation has introduced new rules for LPG gas distribution after heavy rainfall caused the Trishuli River to erode a section of the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir, disrupting supplies to Kathmandu Valley and surrounding districts.

The new rules suspend LPG distribution for commercial purposes, including hotels, restaurants, and canteens, while prioritizing households and essential users.

Due to the road collapse, LPG bullets cannot reach Kathmandu through the blocked highway. LPG companies supplying the Valley will arrange to have cylinders filled at plants in the Tarai and transport them to Kathmandu through alternative routes.

The corporation's Executive Director Nagendra Sah said efforts are underway to arrange LPG supplies from the Tarai, with gas being distributed proportionately and efficiently under the new rules.
