Nepal's Bhardwaj Oil Industry Takes Off with Rs. 120 M Investment
A local entrepreneur in Nepal has established an oil industry in Kapilvastu district after gaining experience in Australia. Om Shankar Upadhyay, who spent three years working in the Australian oil production sector, returned home and set up Bhardwaj Oil Industry in Mayadevi Rural Municipality-5 with an investment of around Rs. 120 million.
The industry currently provides direct employment to 80 people and produces rice bran oil, which is considered beneficial for human health due to its fortification with vitamins A and D.
The oil is sold at Rs. 365 per litre, and the company offers free home delivery throughout Kapilvastu district. To incentivize sales, they have introduced discounts of 8% on one-litre packs and 12% on five-litre packs during their inauguration period.
