NESE Pipeline Construction Delayed Amid Environmental Concerns
The construction of the Natural Gas Pipeline Under Raritan Bay has been delayed. Williams, the natural gas behemoth building the pipeline, previously expected to start digging in July, August, or September this year.
Clean Ocean Advocacy, an environmental group fighting the project, states that no work has started on NESE yet. They recently filed a lawsuit to stop its construction.
A Williams spokesperson declined direct comment but stated that construction activities will proceed in accordance with applicable permits and project planning. The company claims that the Northeast Supply Enhancement project has been thoroughly reviewed by state and federal regulators.
