Newmont Beats Q2 Estimates Amid Gold Price Volatility
Newmont Corporation, the world's largest gold producer, reported its second-quarter earnings, exceeding market expectations despite a 13% decline in gold prices. The company generated $6.1 billion in revenue and achieved net income of $2.2 billion, or $2.06 per diluted share.
Adjusted net income stood at $2.2 billion, or $2.10 per share, surpassing the consensus analyst estimate of $1.98 per share.
President and CEO Natascha Viljoen stated that the company achieved attributable gold production of approximately 1.3 million ounces during the quarter and generated record free cash flow.
