Nghia Dan Farmers Focus on High-Yield Corn After Lunar New Year

Farmers in Nghia Dan district are focusing on caring for their spring crops after the Lunar New Year. The district has allocated over 2,300 hectares for various crops, with nearly 1,700 hectares dedicated to corn.

Nghia Thinh commune planned to plant 100 hectares of corn and other crops, but only 70 hectares have been planted on alluvial land so far. The remaining 30 hectares of vegetables on paddy fields cannot be planted due to heavy rains and flooding.

Mr. Ngo Van Minh's family in Quyet Thang hamlet has 2 sao (approximately 0.2 hectares) of riverside land planted with corn for raw materials. They plan to increase the number of harvests by planting the winter crop nearly half a month earlier than usual.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghia Dan district is directing communes to focus on winter vegetable production, organize training courses, and ensure proper fertilization and care procedures.
